For caregivers and walking little ones (not a stroller friendly playgroup but babes in arms welcome) Meet in the Parking Lot!!
Help your child learn to explore the natural world. Each week participants will use all of their senses to explore the woods and trails of this beautiful forest. While never actually reaching the top of the mountain, children and care givers will be introduced to some of the many magical spots along the way. Good outdoor clothes are a must, and a change of clothes should always be kept on hand for each child.
Educators and mental health professional worldwide are concerned that many children today no longer spend unhurried time exploring the natural world as previous generations have done. Research strongly indicates that children need connections with the natural world as a regular part of their healthy growth and development and that transforming our approach to environments, health and early education is critical. This play group, in collaboration with Community Health Programs, is the beginning of a larger series of nature-based educational experiences to be offered by the Trustees of Reservations.
