Dr. Stephen Alsdorf, family practice physician, is a graduate of UMass Medical School. He completed his internship and residency in the Boston area, at Boston University Family Medicine Program, Boston Medical Center and Codman Square Health Center. Dr. Alsdorf is a member of the Massachusetts Academy of Family Physicians and a member of the Medical Executive Committee of Berkshire Medical Center, where he is also on staff. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Family Medicine and a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians.
Kathleen Floyd, family nurse practitioner, has been providing primary care for more nearly three decades, and has extensive experience in rural health and community nursing. She earned both her M.S. in nursing and her M.S. in family practice nursing from Pace University. She provides disease management, routine physicals on our mobile medical unit.
Rebecca Gamache is a family nurse practitioner at CHP Neighborhood Health Center. After receiving her undergraduate degree from UMass-Amherst she went on to earn her M.S. at Sage Graduate School in Troy, N.Y. She is a Berkshire County native and worked as a registered nurse at Berkshire Medical Center and Berkshire County ARC before becoming a primary care practitioner. Rebecca’s primary focus is health promotion and disease prevention, and she has a strong passion for holistic treatment options.
Laura Gariepy, family nurse practitioner, provides primary care to people of all ages in the Great Barrington area. After earning her undergraduate degree from George Washington University, she earned her M.S. in nursing at Simmons College School of Nursing and Health Sciences in Boston. She worked as a nurse at Lee Family Practice prior to joining the Community Health Center in Great Barrington. Ms. Gariepy’s clinical interests include preventative care and wellness, as well as adolescent and women’s health.
Dr. Horth, family practice physician, graduated cum laude from the University of Notre Dame. She earned her medical degree from the University of Massachusetts School of Medicine in Worcester and trained at Memorial Hospital of Rhode Island. Her wide ranging medical interests include preventative medicine, adolescent and women’s health.
Janell Hostetler, MSN, ARNP, FNP-BC is a family nurse practitioner who will see patients of all ages. She received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and a Masters in Nursing (MSN) from Chamberlain University in Illinois. She is board-certified in Family Health by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).
As a family trained nurse practitioner, she provides care for patients of all ages. Her clinical focus includes: adult/pediatric and LGBTQIA+ care, wellness, prevention, and mindfulness. In addition to her registered nursing and family nurse practitioner certification, she is certified in pediatric advanced life support, and certified basic life support. She is bilingual in English and Spanish and is committed to personalized and compassionate patient care.
Ms. Hummel has more than 25 years of critical care, emergency and transport nursing. She received her undergraduate nursing degree from Russell Sage College and went on to earn a Master of Public Administration as well as a second Master of Science in Nursing. She also served as Emergency Services Director for the Albany Fire Department.
Dr. Kaplan, family medicine physician, has more than three decades of experience caring for patients from birth through elder years. He received his undergraduate degree from Columbia College and his medical degree from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry. He completed his residency in family medicine at Middlesex Memorial Hospital, an affiliate of the University of Connecticut. In 1980, he became board certified in family medicine and in 1988, he earned additional certification in geriatric medicine.
Shannon Kurzeski is a family nurse practitioner at CHP Neighborhood Health Center in Pittsfield.
She earned her M.S. in nursing from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst, and she received her post-master’s degree as a family nurse practitioner from University of Massachusetts-Boston. She is board certified as a family nurse practitioner by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.
Before joining CHP, Ms. Kurzeski owned and operated her own family primary care practice in Ludlow, Complete Care for All. She has also worked in medical practices in the Springfield area, including Ludlow Pediatrics Inc., Caring Health Center and New England Sports, Orthopedic, Spine, and Rehab.
Dr. Levitan has been providing health care to children and adults in Berkshire County for more than three decades. After receiving her undergraduate degree from the University at Albany, she earned her M.D. from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. She completed her family practice residency at St. Clare’s Hospital in Schenectady, N.Y. Dr. Levitan has studied complementary medicine including nutrition, stress management techniques and homeopathy, and she offers these modalities to her patients.
Dr. Lisa Nelson is a University of Massachusetts School of Medicine graduate and completed her residency and internship in family medicine at Boston Medical Center and South Boston Community Health Center. She has worked in private practice family medicine since 2005, and also serves on the faculty of the UMass Medical School and the University of New England College of Osteopathic Physicians. She is director of medical education at Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health and also serves as medical director of The Nutrition Center. Dr. Nelson integrates lifestyle approaches for prevention and treatment of chronic diseases through changes in diet, exercise, and stress management. Dr. Nelson leads two group medical programs at CHP, "Healthy Eating, Healthy Living" and "Managing Stress During Stressful Times." Janine L. Risser, Family Nurse Practitioner, has joined the patient care team at CHP North Adams Family Medical & Dental. Ms. Risser practiced most recently in New Mexico, at a University of New Mexico Family Health Clinic in Albuquerque, providing comprehensive urgent, ongoing and preventive care to patients of all ages. She has also provided Primary Care in a variety of private and community-based medical practices in Washington State, Oregon, Arizona and Massachusetts.
Ms. Risser earned her Master of Science in Nursing, Family Nurse Practitioner, at the University of Massachusetts - Amherst. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Rhode Island College. In 2001, she was inducted into Sigma Theta Tau, the International Honor Society of Nursing.
Dr. Setti earned her B.A. in human development and social relations at Earlham College in Richmond, IN. She completed her M.D. at the School of Medicine, University of North Carolina Chapel Hill and then attended Harvard University, where she earned her M.S. in public, with a focus on international public health. Dr. Setti completed her family medicine internship and fellowship at Ventura County Medical Center in California, and in 2003, served as chief resident there.
Dr. Jeremy Stoepker graduated from Georgetown University School of Medicine in Washington, DC, then did his residency training at Columbia Presbyterian in New York City. He received an award in “Patient Centered Care” and was also ranked one of New York City's top doctors for LGBTQ health. His interests/strengths are in LGBTQ health, Alternative/Complementary medicine, and holistic care of individuals and whole families.
Brittany Wallace is a Family Nurse Practitioner providing primary care to adult and geriatric patients. After receiving her undergraduate nursing degree from Russell Sage College, she earned her Master of Science in Nursing at the Sage Graduate School in Troy, N.Y.; she worked previously as a staff nurse at Berkshire Medical Center. She is ANCC certified and she is focused on preventive health and holistic whole-body health.
Rita Willey, DNP has been caring for Berkshire County residents for over 25 years. She earned her doctorate of nursing (DNP) and her master’s degree in family nurse practitioner (FNP) from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. Willey holds her master’s in business administration, with a concentration in health care management, from Western New England College. She earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing from UMass and completed her associate degree in nursing at Berkshire Community College.
A resident of Lenox, she has volunteered with the Berkshire County Military Family Support Group, a program of the American Red Cross during the Iraq War from 2003-2010. She is an active volunteer member for 26 years with the National Ski Patrol and holds certification in outdoor emergency care.
Lauren Young, family nurse practitioner, sees patients of all ages at CHP Great Barrington Health Center. She earned her M.S. in nursing/family nurse practitioner from Simmons University, and she holds a master’s degree in food science, nutrition and health promotion from Mississippi State University. She is certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. She completed family nurse practitioner rotations at medical practices in the Plymouth, N.H. area. and at the New Hampshire Veterans Home.
